Matt Wallace wins BMW International Open by one shot

Matt Wallace wins BMW International Open by one shot

Britain's Matt Wallace shot a 7-under 65 to hold off a record-breaking charge from Thorbjorn Olesen and win the BMW International Open on Sunday.

Wallace completed on 10-under 278 - only in front of Olesen, Mikko Korhonen and 2008 champ Martin Kaymer, whose odds took a blow with an intruder on the seventeenth gap.

Olesen had played himself into conflict with the most reduced round in competition history, with nine birdies and a hawk for a 11-under 61. It was the most reduced round of his European Tour vocation and it gave the Dane a three-shot lead before the last gathering had even jump started.

Wallace turned in 34 however then made five birdies in seven openings from the swing to edge a shot past Olesen. He held up as Kaymer and Korhonen ran close with rounds of 68 and 67, separately.

Britain's Aaron Rai and Lucas Bjerregaard completed joint-fifth with rounds of 69.
